On 31 March 2015, the Bavarian State Minister of Finance, Dr Markus Söder, representing the majority owner of BayernLB, signed the purchase agreement in Taicang. At the signing ceremony, Dr Söder remarked, “Go East — that is the motto of the Bavarian Mittelstand. The new German Centre will give these Bavarian and German small and midsized companies a home in China.”
